There is a lot of information here and it does take a bit of reading but if
you have the time, it's well worth having a look. You can find out about the
two of us, what we do and what we can offer you.
We have tried to give you all the information we think you might need when considering
us as your wedding photographers. Personally, I hate going into a shop where I can't see what's on offer or how much
something costs so as this is our shop window we've put everything here so
you can look and find out everything before you call us. Price details are
cunningly hidden on the Prices pageTo save you scrolling through, you can click on these links to take you

Why Us?
Now this is a really good question. First of all it's important to
realise that photography is our passion as well as our profession. This is important as your wedding photographer should be
someone who really cares about the work he or she produces rather than someone who sees it as just another job.
Photography is not just equipment and technique. It's about
visualisation (I think I need a lie down after that big word) and
creativity. A wedding photographer also needs good communication skills, be
an organiser and be fun to be with. Excellent technique and top quality
equipment are important but one without the rest makes you a bad
photographer and a bad photographer takes bad photographs.
We use the best equipment available and our images have won awards from the
Royal Photographic Society and the Master Photographers Association. Not bad
eh? I can feel my head getting bigger, but in all seriousness, I am proud of
the awards we have been given but even more important than these, are the
testimonials from past wedding clients and their family. These are
humbling but at the same time, a measure of the sort
of people we are and the work we produce (testimonials can be seen).A lot of people will be involved on your wedding day but the photographer is the one person (or people in our case) who is with you all the time. Therefore it is essential that he or she is not only good at what they do, they are
happy cheerful people who are fun to be with. No trouble on that score. We
are both very friendly, get on with everybody and know how to have a good
time whilst getting the job done. Let's face it, happy people make happy
photos and that's what we all want.
About the photographers
- Barrie
"It feels that I have been taking photographs all of my life (I'm sure I was
given a camera instead of a rattle) and I have been a full time professional for
more than 14 years. I have been honoured by being awarded Distinctions from both
the internationally prestigious Royal Photographic Society and the Master
Photographers Association in recognition of my technical ability and
innovative presentation style
It is an achievement I am very proud of as very few professional photographers have become recipients of such awards."
About the photographers -
Neil
"At school and college, my passion was for art in all its forms. I also like a
good party so becoming a wedding photographer means I can indulge my passion for
photography with being at a really good party (and I don't end up with a
hangover!)."
We are sure that our creative flair and attention to detail will provide you with memorable photographs of your wedding day
which you will treasure forever. Through our photography, we will capture for you all the fun and excitement of the day
as it unfolds along with the solemnity of this very special occasion. It is important to remember that this is your day
and we will work hard to ensure that the photography reflects your desires using
our experience to guide you when required.
How We Work
We will meet with you at least once prior to the wedding day itself (we can
meet as many times as you wish). This meeting can be at our place, at your
home or at the Reception venue. Whatever suits you best. I always think that
it is a good idea to meet up at the reception venue at some stage before the
wedding regardless of where the initial meeting took place. No matter how
familiar we are with a venue, it is probably very new to you so together we
can have a walk around and a chat about the day and how everything is likely
to unfold.
When we meet with you, we will show you sample wedding albums and a portfolio of work from
recent weddings. You won't be asked to choose albums at this stage. This sort of
decision cannot possibly be made until you have seen your final photographs,
but it IS good to see what a finished album looks like and how good we are
at putting them together (head is getting bigger again!)
On the wedding day itself, if you have chosen to have photographs of the bride-to-be before the ceremony (included
in all packages but you don't have to have it),
then we will arrive at a time we agree in advance. After taking all the
necessary photographs, we will move on to the place of
ceremony to ensure we are present well in advance of the bride's party. This gives
us the opportunity to photograph the groom looking
suitably petrified and the guests checking to make sure their
dresses haven't clashed (and that's just the men!).
If it is a church wedding, we will have already checked if photography is
allowed during the service (usually it is as long as no flash is used which
is fine by us). If it is a civil wedding, then these days there are very few
restrictions about photography. Everybody realises (or should anyway) that
the day is about you and what you want, not about petty rules and personal
likes and dislikes.
We realise that there is an need for both formal (group) photos and the
casual (reportage) style ones. There is no reason why the group photos
should take too long. We suggest you get a list together before the wedding
of the 'must have' group photos. This usually includes bride and groom with
parents, brothers, sisters, bridesmaids, best man and ushers in various
combinations. Quite frankly, don't go overboard, the last thing you'll want
to do is spend your whole day having group photos done.
With this in
mind, it is worth talking briefly about timing. When you are a guest at a
wedding, time sometimes passes slowly (particularly when you are hungry!).
When it is YOUR wedding, time moves at a faster pace. We suggest you leave a
minimum of an hour and a half and preferably two hours between the END of
your civil ceremony (or arrival at the reception venue for a church wedding)
and the wedding breakfast. The reason for this is simply so you get the time
to do everything you want, get all the photos you want without feeling
rushed and without the whole day being taken up with photographs.
Right, so we have taken all the photos and you are off somewhere exotic
(ever been to Scunthorpe?). We get to work on the photographs right away. It
usually takes us 2 or 3 days to edit all of the photos we have taken as
there are so many.
These 'proof' photographs will be available to you when you arrive back from your
Honeymoon but if you get bored whilst you are away, you can also see them in the
Client's Area of our website a few days after the wedding. When you get back,
these proofs will be sent to you as prints and on CD as JPEGs along with a
Slideshow (a great way to view the images on a computer).
You will find that many photographers ask you to return the proof
photographs and album to them. We do not do this, they are yours to keep.
Unlike most other photographers, the entire process from pressing the shutter, through processing and printing, to presentation in an
album, is undertaken by ourselves. We like to ensure the utmost quality through the whole photographic process and to
our way of thinking, there is only one way to do this and that is to do all the
work ourselves
The Prints
As mentioned previously, all the photographs we take on the day are
presented to you in a preview album (the so called "proof album") as well on
CD (as JPEGS) so you can download or email them as you wish. The proofs are
also uploaded onto the website (in the Clients Area) so your friends and
family around the world can see them.
The proofs will be all the photographs taken on the day after editing. We will select some for conversion into black and
white or for sepia toning or for creative digital manipulation, just so you can get a feel for what can be achieved. By the way,
it is your choice if you want any of the photographs produced in black and white, sepia toned etc and there is NO
extra charge for this.
All packages include up a minimum of 60 high quality finished prints
which can be of various sizes, ('with album' packages include 70 or more photos
simply because we know what we can fit into an album without it look
cramped). We can discuss this in greater detail when we speak
with you.
The Albums The finishing touch for your photographs is their presentation in a suitable album.
We recognise that the choice of album is subject to personal taste and we
wouldn't dare to presume to try and force you
to choose something that didn't suit you or your photographs.
The specific album you choose will depend on the photos you pick from the
proofs offered to you. Choosing a particular package when you book does not tie you to a
album but simply guarantees that the price of the album
will not change no matter how far ahead your wedding is from the time of booking
Once you have your proof photographs, we can discuss the best way to present them and
we can guide you through the options available.
We would like to make one thing clear. We are photographers and
we make our living by providing all of our clients with the highest quality
professional photographic service possible. We make no profit on selling albums
and our only wish is to ensure that the photographs we provide are presented in the best possible way -
one that suits both your taste and the photographs themselves.
There are many album manufacturers but our personal favourites are G F Smith and
the Australian company, Jorgsensen.
G F Smith are a British manufacturer producing a delightful range of albums
that are available in a variety of colours and styles. Superb quality and range
Jorgensen produce the Rolls Royce of albums in our opinion.
An Australian manufacturer producing the most stunning albums available in a huge range of innovative styles. They are very large and impressive
and can be finished in leather, wood or metal. Let your imagination run riot.
We have designed packages that include a G F Smith or Jorgensen album if required or you can
purchase one at a later date (we make no profit on album sales)
...the end (at last!)
We hope this has given you a taste of what you can expect from us.
Almost forgot to add that we are very nice people too and easy to get on with. You might laugh but this is a very
important attribute and can make all the difference to the wedding itself. The last thing you want
is some old misery slouching around irritating everybody!
